Our Vision

Dreams To Reality Foundation aims to provide volunteers with quality, flexible, safe and highly affordable volunteering placements in South Africa. In addition to providing aid and assisting disadvantaged communities, our vision is to increase education and create awareness through the skills and expertise offered by volunteers from their selected communities and institutions, but also through the experiences and lessons volunteers will in turn take back to their own countries and cultures.

  • Being able to travel to South Africa and volunteer with Dreams to Reality was an amazing opportunity. The kids are beautiful, the country was amazing and the staff and volunteers are all remarkable. Thank you so much for the opportunity and for your amazing work to continue to provide these services to future volunteers.

    KAVITA MAHARAJ, Australia

  • My favorite moments were being with the children. Being able to help them with their colours, numbers, shapes, and seeing their big smiles when you praise them for getting something right.

  • I made a strong connection with the girls in the classes and Gemma and I would usually take them for the gym period. We provided them with many new games as well as some sports equipment. Many of the kids were very sad to see us leave which showed that I was able to teach them something.

  • I worked in the schools as well as the day cares and did the Surf Outreach program. I absolutely loved every minute of it and I was there for 4 weeks. It was the most amazing experience of my life and taught me so much about myself and life in general.

    NICOLE ABMA, Canada

  • Our volunteer experience was outstanding and the local organization was above and beyond in their accommodations, hospitality and pure passion for the community they support. Our house mates (6 of us total) were lovely too! Lyla and I adored the local coordinators, Ive and Tim. If we return it is because of their warmness.

  • My favorite moment was being at the childcare everyday. Volunteering with children was the reason I came and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything about the trip was perfect and amazing. I was very pleased with everything; housing, transportation, food, the childcare centers, and the friendliness of the staff. I would love to do this again.

  • I enjoyed every second of this experience. My favorites would have to be every moment with my 4th graders, and making lifelong friends. I will never forget any of the students in my class, and I hope I made the same impact on them.

  • I enjoyed my childcare placement immensely. My teachers in my classroom allowed me to teach the children and ask any questions I had about their lives and how they live, it was an amazing experience.

    JACLYN AMAN, Canada

  • This is my 4th day of volunteering. Everything is going well. Everybody is nice and I feel very welcomed here. The children are cute and so energetic. It's good to bring a smile to their faces.
