Volunteering does make a difference

Volunteering can make a difference

The problems of the world, or even your community, might seem gigantic. Unfortunately, they often are. You might even feel like there’s no point trying to do anything. Honestly, how can one young person really make a dent in everything that needs to be done out there?

Volunteering is like this. One single person, like one candle, can make a difference. If a whole bunch of “ones” gather together to work on the same problem, they can make it better-or even go away. Every person is important, and every person can do some good. Like you!

By volunteering with Dreams to Reality you will make a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people.

You could also learn new skills, improve your CV, build your confidence and meet new people. Not to mention having great fun! We have many opportunities to get involved in volunteering, such as helping at the local schools, mentoring a young person in our surf program, or encouraging activities for the children for some well-deserved time away from their caring responsibilities.

There are thousands of organisations trying to help the world’s impoverished children. They work on nutrition, education and health projects in every country. Yet, according to the United Nations, each year more children are hungry, malnourished and sick than the year before. How can this be?

We believe short-term volunteers make all the difference. You represent a renewable resource for delivering essential services that can’t be matched in any other way. Indeed, you make all the difference in the world!
